Ants do not come inside for no reason
- Most Gold Coast homes see them after rain or in a dry spell — the nest is outside and the kitchen is simply the nearest water or sugar.
- Coastal brown ants throw up little piles of soil in paving joins and lawn. Black house ants trail along skirtings and bench edges.
- Green-head ants sting and tend to nest in open sunny lawn, which matters if you have kids or a dog using the yard.
- Ants nesting in a wall cavity or roof void behave differently from ones nesting in the garden, and get treated differently.
Find the colony, treat the colony
- A technician follows the trails back to the nest and identifies the species. What works on one kind of ant does nothing to another.
- Treatment is placed where the ants travel and where the colony lives, not sprayed across the whole house.
- A single low-chemical application inside and out. You can usually stay home while we work.
- If covered pests return to internal areas within 12 months, we come back and re-treat at no charge.
Baiting beats spraying. Where the nest is reachable, a bait the workers carry home clears a colony with a fraction of the chemical a perimeter spray uses.
What you can do first
- Do not spray the trail with supermarket surface spray. It scatters the colony into new sub-nests and makes the job harder.
- Leave the trail where it is if you can — it tells the technician exactly where the nest is.
- Clear kitchen benches, put pet bowls and toys away, and cover fish tanks before we arrive.

Will one treatment be enough?
For the common garden and house ants around the Coast, usually yes — that is what the low-chemical formula is built for. Heavily established colonies in a wall or roof void can need a follow-up, and we will tell you that when we quote rather than after.
We have a dog and small kids. Is it safe?
Yes. Residential treatments are formulated to be safe around pets and children and use substantially less pesticide than standard spray programs. Your technician will walk you through the few precautions on the day, like covering fish tanks.
Can I just deal with it myself?
Sometimes. If the nest is in a pot plant or a single paver join, we will tell you how to handle it over the phone and not charge you for the call. Advice is free whether or not you book us.
