Bed bugs are not a one-spray job and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling you a second call-out. We inspect, treat thoroughly, and tell you up front what the program actually involves.

What to look for before you call
- Bites in a line or cluster, usually on skin that is uncovered overnight — arms, shoulders, ankles. Not everyone reacts, so bites alone are not proof either way.
- Small dark spots along the mattress piping, the seams, and the joins of the bed frame. That is the clearest sign.
- Shed skins and live insects in the frame joints, behind the bedhead and in the screw holes of a slat base.
- They travel in luggage and second-hand furniture. A clean house is no protection at all, and it is not a reflection on you.
A program, not a single spray
- A thorough inspection of the bed, frame, bedheads, adjacent furniture and skirtings to establish how far it has spread.
- Treatment of every harbourage we find, including the joins and voids where the eggs sit, because eggs survive what kills adults.
- A follow-up timed to the hatch cycle. This is why bed bug work is a program, and the number of visits is set out in the quote before we start.
- Written preparation instructions beforehand — laundering, bagging, what to move and what to leave — because preparation is genuinely half of whether it works.
Thorough beats heavy. Bed bug work succeeds on inspection and placement, not on volume of product. We treat the harbourages we can prove are there.
Preparation matters more here than anywhere
- Do not throw out the mattress yet. It is usually treatable, and moving it through the house can spread the problem to another room.
- Do not move to the spare room or the couch. Bed bugs follow the person, and you will end up with two infested rooms instead of one.
- Wash and hot-dry affected bedding and clothing, then bag it. We will send the full preparation list when you book.
Before you call
How many visits will it take?
It depends on how far it has spread and how well the preparation goes, and we give you the number in writing with the quote rather than after the first visit. Eggs survive treatments that kill adults, so a follow-up timed to the hatch is normal.
Will the neighbours know?
Only if you tell them. Ask when you book and we will arrange the least conspicuous option we can.
Is this covered by the 12-month service period?
Bed bug work is quoted as its own job with its own terms, not as part of a general treatment, and those terms are put in writing with your quote.
