How a barrier works

A zone termites can’t cross undetected

  • Trenched and injected around the slab edge, piers and penetrations, continuous with no untreated joins.
  • Termites tunnelling through it are eliminated before they reach timber, including activity already in the walls.
  • Placed only where termites travel. The lawn, the garden and the veggie patch stay untreated.
  • Treatment certificate and warranty terms in writing. Required input: products & warranty terms
Two kinds of barrier

Which barrier suits which home

Chemical soil barrier

The standard for established homes. Trenched and injected around the existing slab in a day. Where paths and patios abut the house, small holes are drilled, injected and resealed.

Physical barrier

Sheet and mesh systems installed while the home is being built, lasting the life of the building. See pre & post-construction treatments →

Still low-chemical. A barrier treats the soil, not the house. The product stays in the ground where termites travel and never enters your living space.

Barrier questions

Asked before most installs

How long does a barrier last?

The exact life depends on the product and your soil type. Your warranty puts a number on it in writing before we start.

Do I still need annual inspections?

Yes. A barrier stops concealed entry, but gardens get built up, paths get laid and weep holes get bridged. The annual inspection confirms nothing has changed around it.

Will you need to drill our patio?

Only where concrete abuts the slab. The holes are small and resealed afterwards, and most people can’t find them a week later.
